In Buddhism, the notion of heaven’s duration is not permanent. It’s considered to be part of higher levels within the cycle of samsara in which beings are able to are happy, but ultimately go back to birth, and dying.

The ancient Egyptians believed in the existence of an afterlife and believed in the concept that there was “Aaru,” a paradise for those who are righteous. It was a lush, reedy paradisiac place where the soul of deceased could be at peace.
